Description

This is now my second time imaging the newly discovered planetary nebula, StDr1, PNG 185.1-00.9.
My first attempt was  3 years ago, 3 months after its amazing discovery by Xavier Strottner and Marcel Dreschler, in November 2019.
They combined their skills with the support of American astronomer, Dana Patchick, and discovered this nebula by peeling the digital images available on the Aladin Sky Atlas.

I was the second person to image it, after Peter Goodhew, who got a much better image, listed here:

https://www.astrobin.com/ji82z5/

That was what inspired me to try for it.

So now, 3 years later, what has changed?
1.  A Starizona HyperStar 6 v4, allowing me to capture photons 4X faster
2.  An Antlia Highspeed, duo-narrowband filter, allowing me to use a One-Shot-Color (OSC) camera
3.  An OSC camera with low read noise, low dark current and no amp glow, the ASI 533MC Pro

So in less time, with much less fuss, I think I got a better image of this ultra-faint nebula.

For reference, this is my image of StDr 1 from 3 years ago, using my homemade 4.5-inch (115mm) Newtonian reflector and a monochrome camera:
